After his acting debut in a performance of The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, aged 13, at New Theatre Royal, Ben Claybon has returned to rejoin the historic theatre as an associate artist.
Born in Hammersmith, London, the professionally trained actor grew up in Portsmouth before graduating from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London. Since then, he has carved a career in producing and directing, having taught at Chichester College in the Performing Arts Department.
Commenting on becoming part of the theatre’s innovative new programme which inspires and facilitates artistic talent, Ben said, “ I’m so excited to join New Theatre Royal – and help the theatre in it’s mission, I’ve learnt first hand how creative culture can build a community and shape you.
“I love helping others to breed new work, new writing and give them the chance to step up their career.”
His latest project titled ‘Unsigned’, set to debut in Camden Fringe 3rd August, depicts a young indie rock band in their struggle to launch their career.
