Speaking about his new role, Scott comments: “I am very much looking forward to becoming a part of Portsmouth’s community, working with the trustees, volunteers and staff at New Theatre Royal to continue its development as a leading innovative theatre.”
Scott is a TMA Award nominated stage writer, member of UK Theatre, and sits on the steering group of HOUSE, a programming and audience development initiative for the South East.
Judith Smyth, Chair of the Board of Trustees at New Theatre Royal commented, “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Ramsay as our new Chief Executive. “Following our reopening last October, the team has worked tirelessly to re-establish the theatre as a cultural landmark in the city. We are confident that Scott will continue this work and his energy will drive the theatre on to success, reaching new audiences and developing our relationships with the local community.”
