I have lost my ticket, what shall I do?

If you contact the Box Office they will be able to help replace your ticket. Don’t forget, there is also the option for an E-ticket which is emailed to you when booking.


Can I exchange my ticket?

If you contact the Box Office they will be able to help you but please bear in mind ticket exchanges will always be dependent on availability.

What is your refund policy?

Once purchased tickets are non-refundable, except in the case of the cancellation of the event. So please check your tickets carefully. For further information, please contact the Box Office team.

Am I being charged a booking fee?

All ticket prices shown include a Restoration Levy and Booking Fee. There will be a postage charge of £1.50 to send tickets out by mail. If you have any queries about this, please contact the Box Office team on 023 9264 9000.


What is your late admissions policy?

Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. Late admission is dependent on each production and for some productions if the company feels that late admission will cause too much of a disruption you may not be admitted into the auditorium. Please note that in the Minghella Studio, admission may involve you walking across the performance space so in nearly all cases late admission is unlikely.


Is there disabled access?

The New Theatre Royal is fully accessible for wheel chairs on all three levels. To book a wheelchair seat, you will need to speak to the Box Office team on 023 9264 9000 as they are not bookable online.For more information, please look at our Access page.

Can I bring the Family to the New Theatre Royal?

We offer a varied programme of events for families and younger theatre goers. You can search in our What’s On Section for Family shows. We do have booster cushions available for selected shows, please speak to a member of our Front of House team to see if we have any available.


What is the age guidance for shows?

Where an age guidance for a performance is given, this is the lowest age for which the company suggests their production is suitable. If you would like more information on age suitability for a specific performance, especially upper or lower age guidance, please speak to our Box Office team on 023 9264 9000 or email boxoffice@newtheatreroyal.com

Those aged under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.


Can we bring a Baby?

Yes, we typically suggest 3+ but for any under 18 months of age you must purchase a ‘Babe in Arms’ ticket for the additional cost of £1. The ‘Babe in Arms’ ticket may be purchased combined with an adult ticket when booking online alternatively you may call to book via the Box Office on 023 9264 9000.


Can I pre-order my drink for the interval?

Yes, please visit either of our bars before a performance starts to order your interval drinks.


Is there a dress code when visiting New Theatre Royal?

We want you to feel comfortable when visiting our theatre; so don’t feel that you have to get dressed up to come to one of our events. You will not be turned away for wearing trainers. Some evenings we do hold gala nights, which provide a great excuse to dress up in your best clothes for the evening.


Can I take my phone into the auditorium?

Yes you may, but all phones must be turned off (not silenced) for the performance to prevent any disruptions.


Is there a cash point nearby?

There are cash points located locally, the nearest is outside Sainsbury’s on Guildhall Walk.


Can I purchase food and drink at the theatre?

We have two bars and a café area in the theatre where you can buy a range of drinks and snacks. Ice cream will also be available for purchase during the interval.

Can I take photographs?

Unfortunately no photographs can be taken once inside the auditorium. If you would like to visit the venue to take photographs of our lovely architecture, please speak to one the Front of House or Box Office Team.
