About the event
‘Wouldn’t it be loverly’ to see this quintessentially English movie musical in a traditional Victorian theatre? Winner of eight academy awards, this is the story of pompous phonetics Professor Henry Higgins (Rex Harrison) accepting the challenge of transforming working-class Cockney flower gel Eliza Doolittle (Audrey Hepburn) into a lah-di-dah duchess. The movie was adapted from the stage musical, which was in turn based on George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion. Don’t miss the gorgeous costumes designed by Cecil Beaton. ‘With a Little Bit of Luck’ there will be ‘room somewhere’ so don’t wait to get a ticket.
