About the event
Dr. Louise Newson, a leading medical expert on menopause and hormones, is embarking on her first UK theatre tour, accompanied by Dublin-based comedian Anne Gildea.
Hormones and Menopause – The Great Debate aims to educate and raise awareness about menopause, challenge misconceptions, and advocate for better healthcare for women.
Known as “the medic who kick-started the menopause revolution,” Dr. Louise has transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of women through her pioneering work as a GP and menopause specialist.
Menopause involves more than just hot flushes; it includes numerous other symptoms caused by fluctuating or low hormone levels. Dr. Louise emphasizes that women should not endure these symptoms silently. Prolonged periods without hormones can increase the risk of diseases such as heart disease, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, and dementia. Her advice on hormone replacement therapy (HRT), along with lifestyle factors like exercise, diet, and sleep, has revolutionized women’s health and wellbeing.
Dr. Louise and comedian Anne will bring this conversation to life with an evening of learning and laughter. Anne, known for her honest and informative comedy, is a founding member of the iconic Irish musical-comedy trio, The Nualas. She will add a unique perspective and humor to the event, while Dr. Louise’s expertise will enable women to make informed decisions about their health, educating not only women but also their families.
An evening of learning and laughter, the duo are set to captivate, educate and entertain.
