This event has been and gone

Unfortunately the run for this event has ended. Why not take a look at our current "What's On" events list?

Singers, actors and performers from both sides of the English Channel, will present a very special evening of celebration and entertainment at Portsmouth’s iconic New Theatre Royal on Sunday 9 June.

Celebrating the sailors, marines, soldiers, airmen and diverse communities of people who’s breath-taking bravery and ingenuity contributed to the D-Day campaign, paving the way for the liberation of Europe 75 years ago.

Packed with stirring stories, powerful performances and tears of laughter, this special show has been created as part of D-Day 75 commemorations, and will step back in time for a side-ways look at the bravery and spirited nature of those involved.

The cast will be led by Portsmouth favourite Tom Swift, who is joined by Veni Vidi Canto from Normandy, Portsmouth’s own Becki Short, Red Sauce Theatre, Fine Voice Chorus, Sian Goddard Academy of Dance and a superb supporting cast. The evening is directed by Scott Ramsay who recently directed Peter Pan at the prestigious Portsmouth venue.

Supported by the D-Day Story and The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
