Motionhouse are an immensely appealing company, daring, fun and eager to draw the audience into their world to share the adventure Seeing Dance

About the event

Inspired by the incredible role of electricity in the human body, Charge is the electrifying new dance-circus show from acclaimed company Motionhouse. From the electrical charge that sparks human life, to the beating of our hearts and the memories we make, six performers use dance and acrobatics to delve deep into the human body, tracing the amazing story of energy in our lives.

In this exhilarating multi-media production, digital projections create a magical world on stage where dancers and images interact seamlessly, bringing to life stories of energy in our own bodies.

An exciting fusion of art and science, Charge was inspired by work with partners from the University of Oxford on the role of electricity in the human body. Charge is the third element of Kevin Finnan’s Earth Trilogy, developing on themes explored in Scattered (2009) and Broken (2013) about our relationship with water and the Earth.

Motionhouse is supported by Arts council England and Warwick District Council. Charge is supported by Warwick Arts Centre, The Rothschild Foundation, Tipping Point, Stories of Change and Earnest Cook Trust.
