With only a few weeks to go until we reopen our doors, we are currently making the final preparations for our brand new café and bar areas.

Named after the talented theatre architects that contributed to the beautiful historical building, The Phipps Café Bar and Matcham Bar will be ready for when the curtain is raised on 15th October with the nationally acclaimed show The Great Gatsby.

Working with Resonate Interiors, the new catering areas have been styled to complement the renowned design work of Frank Matcham and Charles John Phipps while remaining in keeping with the new refurbishment.

Keeley’s Kitchen has been appointed as official caterers and will be providing delicious snacks and lunches throughout the week for anyone to pop in and enjoy. Passionate about working with local producers, we have also partnered with the likes of Minghella Ice Cream and Bread Addiction in Southsea to offer the best possible eating experience.

Equally as enticing will be the offering in the bars, with an extensive menu of hot beverages, soft drinks, wines, liquors and spirits. British brewery, Greene King, will also be providing a selection of ales and craft lagers including Old Speckled Hen and Noble.

Whether you are visiting for a bite to eat, a coffee morning with friends, a business meeting, special event or pre-theatre drinks, New Theatre Royal is open to all!
