Portsmouth’s White Dog Gallery and New Theatre Royal are pleased to present a special exhibition of the life and work of William Lionel Wyllie as part of Festival of the Sea. 

One of the most prolific painters of maritime themes, WL Wyllie was described as the most distinguished marine artist of his day. Portsmouth seascapes feature within the exhibition which includes hand sketches from his early career, signed watercolours, limited edition prints and photographs taken during his final years. All artwork is available to purchase.

Wyllie’s work adorns The Tate, the Royal Academy, the Imperial War Museum, the National Maritime Museum and the National Museum of the Royal Navy.

The exhibition will run from 4 – 29 February at the New Theatre Royal between 11am – 3pm on weekdays and on performance evenings.
