Here at New Theatre Royal we have a number of weekly engagement groups on offer for people of all ages and interests! Whether it is acting, singing or dancing there is sure to be something for you to participate in.

NEW THEATRE ROYAL DANCERS
Do something for you. Get Moving. Dance is one of the best ways to stay fit and healthy. Not only stimulating the brain, improving cognitive skills, balance, circulation and increasing flexibility its also good fun!! Whether a complete novice or experienced dancer, here at New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth we offer weekly sessions in a relaxed, fun environment. Learn new skills, explore dance visitor workshops but also the opportunity to perform. With previous performances at Portsmouth Cathedral and Square Tower, and an 11 date tour of various coffee shops around the city the company continues to grow and develop.
This group is for over 55’s only. Every Tuesday in term time: 10.15am – 12.15pm
NEW THEATRE ROYAL PLAYERS
Do something for you, be part of something different! Have you been involved in performing in the past and want to take it up again, or always wanted to but never had the time or are a complete novice? New Theatre Royal Players offers weekly sessions in a relaxed, fun, accessible way for performers, writers, directors and teachers. We work in a wide variety of styles, creating 2 new shows a year with the opportunity to perform at venues such as Portsmouth Cathedral, The Square Tower and here at New Theatre Royal.
This group is for over 55’s only. Every Tuesday in term time: 12:30pm – 2:00pm
NEW THEATRE ROYAL EXTRAS
Theatre for all, theatre for everyone! Extras is an inclusive SEN theatre company for adults with additional needs and/or a learning disability. Come and take part, create, perform and meet new friends in a friendly welcoming environment. With extra opportunities to perform in various venues across Portsmouth.
Every Tuesday in term time: 4:00pm – 5:30pm
RED SAUCE THEATRE
Creative Teaching, Profound Learning, Fantastic Experiences using drama to engage. Red Sauce Theatre are a professional company who work alongside diverse groups to give them an opportunity to learn and deliver a high-quality performance on a main stage. They specialise in working with SEN and the elderly frail and people living with dementia. We are all industry professionals, with QTS and Equity registered.
Every Tuesday: 2:30pm – 4:00pm
MOVEMENT JUNKIE: DANCE CLASSES
Have fun and spread joy with dance, movement, fitness and healing. Movement Junkie presents courses throughout the year at New Theatre Royal Portsmouth. They offer a fabulous range of dance fitness classes such as Samba, Chillax and Bollywood.

THE YOUNG CREATIVES PORTSMOUTH
The Young Creatives Portsmouth are the resident theatre school at the New Theatre Royal. Giving children and young people a supportive space to develop their creativity, learn performance skills and experience as many theatre and creative art forms as possible. The three Monday night classes are developed to suit the following age ranges:
Seedling Actors: Ages 4 – 7
Every Monday during term time: 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Budding Actors: Ages 8 – 12
Every Monday during term time: 5pm – 7pm
Company Actors: Ages 13 – 18
Every Monday during term time: 7pm – 9pm
