Casual Box Office Assistant

We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join our box office team. This is a proactive sales role providing excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will need to be IT literate with good verbal and written communication skills, very flexible in their approach to working patterns, have excellent timekeeping and time management skills and clearly demonstrate very strong customer service skills and team working ability.

Previous Box Office experience is preferable but we would expect candidate to have some form of sales related experience.

The successful candidate must be flexible and available to work within the hours of 10am til 8pm Monday to Sunday and be aware that there may well be bank holiday shifts.

Casual Front of House and Bar Staff

We are seeking casual members of staff to join the bar and Front of House team at the iconic New Theatre Royal.

We are looking for staff who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and who are able to provide world class customer service to the wide variety of audiences visiting throughout the year.

Casual Stage, LX and Sound Freelancers

New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth is looking for Casual Stage, LX and Sound Freelancers to join our pool of casuals.

Main Purpose of the role: To assist the Technical Management team in all duties relating to the technical operations of the theatre and studio, including shows, fit-ups and get-outs as well as the maintenance of technical equipment and buildings facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist with fit-ups and get-outs with the emphasis on stage or electrics/sound related aspects of the production depending on your knowledge and experience.
  • To operate the flys or lighting/sound desk, follow spots or work as part of the stage or electrics crew during shows.
  • To maintain house and toured equipment at the discretion and direction of the technical management department.
  • To maintain the building and facilities at the discretion and direction of the technical management and maintenance manager.
  • To assist the permanent staff in any manner to ensure the smooth operation of fit-ups, get-outs and shows.
  • To attend training courses as required in order to further self-development.
  • To adhere to all Health and Safety procedures to minimise the risk of injury and accidents.
