The next Portsmouth Writers Hub meeting will be held on Wednesday 7 March.
Hub member Barbara Mackie will be running a screen-writing workshop, ‘Screen Tips for the Trade’, sharing her experience and advice to Hub members.
Barbara is a BBC trained screenwriter and novelist who lectures part time on screen-writing at Portsmouth and Southampton Universities. She has worked on numerous projects for the BBC and Channel 4. She is currently developing her first musical, Rumpy Pumpy.
In the second half of the session, Portsmouth Library Services writer-in-residence, D.J. Kirkby, will be talking about the Writer In Residency programme, World Book Day and an opportunity for members to contribute to a local anthology.
D.J. is a local writer and the author of Without Alice, From Zaftig to Aspie, and her forthcoming book Special Deliveries. She has also had short stories published in several anthologies. To find out more about her work, visit her website www.djkirkby.co.uk.
