Long John Silver Switches on the Christmas Lights
It’s official Christmas has arrived in Portsmouth. Palmerston Road was illuminated with Christmas cheer as the Southsea Christmas lights were switched on yesterday evening (11/11/10).
There to see that the good cheer made it to port was our very own Long John Silver and his feathered companion Cap’n Flint. This legendary pirate and parrot duo are here in Portsmouth getting ready for their grand swashbuckling adventure in Treasure Island this Christmas.
Old Silver was accompanied by his stilt walking pirates who roamed through the crowds handing out eye patches to those who wanted to set sail on the good ship Treasure Island.
